Probably the biggest thing is getting a gunsmith to drill and tap the base mounting screws. I've installed scopes on both of them and it made them much easier for these old eyes to shoot.
If memory serves me correctly the bolt slot may be in the way for a top mount. Before proceeding be sure the bolt will clear the mounts and scope tube.
